Your orders grew.
Your design team didn't.

When sales outgrow your design team, {{BRAND_NAME}} helps you scale. We set up your in-house design system: the software, the templates and standards, and your existing products rebuilt into it. Need extra design help, or a shop to build it? We handle that too.

How it works

How working with us goes.

  1. Tell us what you're trying to do.

A sketch, a part, an old drawing, a backlog that's piling up, or a goal you're not sure how to start. Whatever stage you're at, we'll take it from there.

  2. Get a clear plan and a fixed quote.

You'll know exactly what you're getting before work starts. Bigger setups are phased, so you spread the cost.

  3. We do the work.

You get regular updates as it comes together, and we check in on anything that changes the outcome, so there are no surprises at delivery.

  4. You get something ready to use.

Shop-ready files, a design system your team owns, or a vetted fabrication partner.

  5. We stand behind it.

Questions mid-build and revisions are part of the job. Every project also includes 30 days of support after delivery, and if we ever got something wrong, we fix it immediately, free.

Competent means we understand what needs to be done and get it right the first time, from a single drawing to a whole design system.

About

One designer, focused on shop-ready work.

{{BRAND_NAME}} was founded by Nathan Johnson, a mechanical designer with hands-on experience in production manufacturing. He's done exactly what the lead service here offers: setting up a product line's design, from the templates and standards behind it to the models and drawings a shop floor can build from.

He knows the rest just as well: sheet metal, fabricated assemblies, and wood composites, in PTC Creo, SolidWorks, and Inventor. Trusted with a multi-million-dollar product line, he kept its parts lists and drawing versions organized and current, so the floor never lost a run to an outdated drawing.

Two words run everything here: competent integrity.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can I use just one service, or do I have to use all of them?
Any service stands on its own. Want your own team to scale? Start with an in-house design setup. Just need a part designed? Start with sheet metal and fabrication design. Or combine them from start to finish. Your call.
Can you set up our in-house design system?
Yes, that's our core service. We pick the right software for your products and budget, build your part and drawing templates and standards, and rebuild your existing products as clean models and drawings. We do it in phases, and you own everything we build.
How long does a setup take, and what does it cost?
It depends on your product count and where you're starting. We phase it so you see value early and spread the cost: the software and standards first, then your product line rebuilt, then training. You get a scope and a quote for each phase before it starts.
Do you own what we build?
Yes. The CAD files, templates, standards, and models are yours. It's built so your team can run it on their own, and we're here whenever you want ongoing help, like adding new parts.
Do you support the work after delivery?
Yes. Every project includes 30 days of support after delivery for questions and small tweaks, so your team gets comfortable with the work. And if we ever got something wrong, we fix it free, with no time limit. New work beyond that is a separate quote.
What does "vetted" mean for your fabrication partners?
Before any introduction we check a fabricator's capacity against your volume and timeline, review their process and quality for your part, and get the written non-compete signed. You're introduced only once those line up.
How does the non-compete work?
Every manufacturer we introduce agrees in writing that they won't be positioned to compete with you. Growing shouldn't mean the shop you trust with your product can turn around and sell it to your customers directly. We're glad to walk you through what the agreement covers.
Do you stamp or seal drawings?
No. We deliver shop-ready mechanical design, drafting, and fabrication drawings for manufactured products. Where sealed work is required, that's out of scope and we'll tell you up front.
Do you work with shops outside Atlanta?
Yes. We're based in Atlanta and serve the metro area in person, and work with remote clients across the country.
What does a project cost?
You get a fixed quote up front: we map out the work and you approve the price before anything starts, so there are no surprises. Send the part or the problem and we'll quote it.
Do you charge a fixed price or hourly?
Both. Most jobs run on a fixed quote for a clearly defined job, so you know the price before anything starts. If it's open-ended, or straight drafting work, we can bill hourly instead, whether that's a few hours, a full day, or ongoing. Tell us the job and we'll recommend the one that fits.
